Bicep

Belfast-born/London-based duo Bicep (Andy Ferguson and Matthew McBriar) are childhood friends who bonded over a shared love of dance music. In the decades since first meeting, aged 8, Bicep have become one of the world’s most avidly appreciated curators and producers of electronic music.

Hailed by the BBC as “one of the biggest names in UK dance”, Bicep continue to cement themselves as one of the defining global electronic acts of our times. In 2022, almost 1 million people had the chance to see Bicep play live. The duo released their hotly anticipated second album, ‘Isles’, in January 2021, which debuted at #2 on the UK Official Albums Chart & #1 on the UK Official Vinyl Albums Chart, earning them 2x BRITs nominations in the process.

Touring saw them close the West Holts stage @ Glastonbury in front of 35k people – and their biggest UK Live shows to date with two back-to-back performances at London’s 10k capacity Alexandra Palace — both of which sold out in just 5 minutes — a headline arena tour throughout Europe including Zenith Paris, Lotto Arena Antwerp and UFO Velodrom Berlin and a run of high-profile festival and headline shows across North America which included Primavera LA and Portola festival in San Francisco, as well as a sold-out tour of Australia including stops in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

In early 2024 Bicep unveiled their ambitious new project, CHROMA. Representing a significant evolution for the duo, CHROMA combines a record label, a series of curated events, a brand new & constantly evolving AV / DJ show, & a unique visual identity created in collaboration with David Rudnick.

The releases on CHROMA – which all feature Ferguson & McBriar in some form – were formulated with an ethos to cover everything “from Acid to Alkaline”. The idea behind the label is twofold: as both a home for their own more underground club focused productions, & also a platform to share their wider musical palette & range of BPMs.

The BICEP present CHROMA AV/DJ continues the visual collaboration with Zak Norman / Black Box Echo. This audio-visual show toured throughout 2024 with sold-out shows in Finsbury Park London, Brighton Beach and festival performances including Coachella, Glastonbury, Creamfileds, Wilderness, Creamfields culminating with a 15,000 capacity sold out CHROMA IN THE SHED’s event at London’s Drumsheds in December.

2025 has so far seen the duo release CHROMA 008 TANGZ with vocals from esteemed UK singer/songwriter ELIZA which dropped just before they embarked on CHROMA dates across New Zealand and Australia for Laneway Festival. The rest of 2025 sees the duo continue to release via the CHROMA imprint, having released CHROMA 009 alongside Kehina and the series finale CHROMA 010 BRILLO in early June.
