Sailing the Sonic Sea

Sailing the Sonic Sea is a new project in collaboration with Ocean Networks Canada and the University of Victoria, raising awareness of how climate change is reshaping the soundscape of the ocean.

Over 3 days in June 2025, artists, musicians, researchers and indigenous people came together to record the sounds of the Salish Sea.

These recordings, alongside compositions submitted to Sailing the Sonic Sea’s call out earlier this year, will be used in a brand new album, released by EarthSonic in 2026.
