Amina Aaliya Beg

Amina Aaliya Beg is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, DJ, facilitator, and co-founder of ajeeb studios. ajeeb studios is an artistic collective that platforms what society perceives as strange, hosting skill-sharing workshops and creative showcases, and supporting participants to develop independence and self-sufficiency. The word ajeeb derives from Urdu, meaning strange, weird, or wonderful. Amina intends to use ajeeb studios to bring joy and unity within communities. She has been part of IPOW’s 100 Agents of Change, where she hosted a crash course in upcycling textiles and a fashion show at Whitespace Gallery in Edinburgh. She has also spoken in Parliament about how ajeeb studios highlights the importance of boycotting unethical practices that contribute to exploitation and genocide as a pathway to living a sustainable and ethical life. Recently, Amina has been working with Intercultural Youth Scotland (IYS) to help deliver gardening design, and planting workshops.
