Matthew Russell is a science communicator, musician and music educator specialising in the intersection of space, music and technology.

With more than 30 years’ experience across the music industry, Matthew has worked in touring, production, live events and higher education, alongside internationally recognised artists and organisations. He is also a senior music educator, developing and teaching programmes in live production, music technology and the creative industries.

As a science communicator, Matthew has presented and written for the European Space Agency, contributing to coverage of major missions including JUICE, Euclid and Vega-C. He is co-host and writer of The Interplanetary Podcast and has appeared across radio, television and digital media, including the viral LADbible Scientist v Flatearther

His work explores the cultural and creative side of spaceflight: how music, sound, technology and storytelling shape the way we understand the universe, and how space exploration in turn inspires musicians, artists and audiences.
