About
My practice is primarily centered around interactive media (such as narrative games) and illustrative storytelling that often draws from traditional Indian art and folklore. My present work with the Kabir Project ties me deeply into folk music and poetry traditions, creating games (both physical and digital) and stories for a children’s curriculum called Shabad Shaala. Through Shabad Shaala, we offer our students threads of metaphors and ideas that they can unravel, and we gently prod them to consider what unifies and divides us, and how we can strive to be better and more thoughtful versions of ourselves.
Project Goals for the next 6-12 Months
Since I have dearly enjoyed creating work for children and using digital media in very artistic and often whimsical forms, I’d love to create more such work that allows me to contribute to kinder and stranger pockets of the internet. I’d love to be involved in more multimedia projects with musicians, writers, dancers, and developers where we can make this digital media more human and more physically interactive (through exhibits or otherwise) in ways that encourage us to connect with one another and drop the veil of difference.
