About
Serge Bulat is a Moldovan-born artist, composer, field recordist, and performer working across sound art, experimental music, and listening-based practices. His current work focuses on documenting and transforming natural, urban, and culturally specific sound environments through field recording, composition, performance, and installation. Working across multiple countries and environments, his practice explores sound as a way of engaging with place, migration, memory, environmental perception, and human presence within changing landscapes. Recent and ongoing projects involve collecting location-specific recordings, developing listening-based performances, and creating sound works that move between documentary attention and immersive sonic experience.

Project Goals for the next 6-12 Months
Over the next 6–12 months, I want to further develop long-form field recording and listening-based projects that engage with environment, geography, migration, and cultural memory through sound. I am interested in expanding my work through interdisciplinary collaborations, site-responsive performances, installations, and international recording projects. I am also looking to connect with organisations, curators, researchers, festivals, and communities interested in sound, environmental listening, acoustic ecology, and socially engaged artistic practices. Alongside artistic development, I aim to continue building projects that preserve and reinterpret disappearing or overlooked sound environments through composition, documentation, and public presentation.
