Bicep X TAKKUUK: How the biggest DJ duo in UK dance collabroated with indigenous Arctic artists
Date: 15 October, 2025
Time: 16:30 - 17:15
Place: Blue Earth Stage
Woolwich Works,The Fireworks Factory
11 No 1 St, Royal Arsenal, SE18 6HD
This immersive session combines discussion with stunning visuals and music from BICEP’s TAKKUK project, an audiovisual installation blending electronic music, environmental storytelling, and Indigenous Arctic artistry. Interlacing film, sound, and conversation, it explores how music can open new ways of telling stories and engaging audiences who may not usually connect with environmental or cultural narratives. Joined by the artists themselves, the panel will ask: What impact can collaborations like this have? Can music shift perspectives, drive action, and how do we measure cultural change? Expect a rich, sensory experience that blurs the boundaries between art, activism, and audience.
Speakers:
Ruth Daniel (CEO & Artistic Director, EarthSonic & In Place of War)
Katarina Barruk (Singer & Songwriter)
Zak Norman (Visual Artist, Bicep Collaborator)
Niilas (Musician, Producer, & DJ)
