Drum & Lace
Drum & Lace, aka Sofia degli Alessandri, is a Florence-raised, London-based musician and composer. Her music takes inspiration from the natural world and is scattered with field recordings, so while the work is largely electronic there is a grounding and organic nature to every track. 2022's debut LP Natura found inspiration in the rolling hills, while 2023's Frost EP captured the quiet beauty of winter.
Her second LP ONDA is inspired by the ocean, with motifs of shells, sand and sisterhood present throughout. In 2026, Drum & Lace joined the Mesh roster with her EP, Terra, that comprises a collection of meditations on human existence, tapping folkloric traditions of the ancient lands she grew up in and the breadth of electronic music.
Drum & Lace has shared the stage with artists as disparate, and luminary, as William Basinski, Suzanne Ciani, Sqürl, black midi and Hans-Joachim Roedelius, having performed at revered venues like Café OTO, EartH, Moogfest, Public Records NY, Slingshot Festival and Zebulon to name a few. As a composer for film & tv, her accolades include work with AppleTV+, 20th Century Studios, Lionsgate, Netlix, NBC and Amazon Studios.
