Tom Middleton
Tom Middleton is an award-winning composer, producer, DJ and multisensory experience architect, known internationally as one half of pioneering ambient electronic duo Global Communication.
Across more than three decades in music, he has explored sound as a medium for connection, emotion, restoration and altered states of awareness. He is founder of Senzomi, where his work brings together sound, sensory design, science, nature and technology to create experiences that support human and planetary wellbeing. His practice spans acoustic ecology, field recording, spatial sound, vibration, immersive environments and archaeoacoustic research, exploring how people relate to place, landscape and the sonic traces of the past.
Alongside sleep and restorative sound for Calm, Apple Music and other platforms, helping millions sleep better worldwide, Tom creates transformative IRL experiences including the five-star-rated TIME ECHOES, using sound, vibration, breath, light and space to deepen connection and presence. He also serves on the Global Wellness Institute’s Music for Health & Wellbeing Initiative, contributing to evidence-informed understanding of how music and sound can support health, recovery and human flourishing.
