Join CPA Student and Young People’s Group for an online workshop on supporting young people's mental health in the face of climate change.
In this interactive workshop, Caroline Hickman and Elouise Mayall, experienced in supporting young people’s mental health in relation to climate change, will explore how adults (educators, parents, and others working with children and young people) can provide meaningful support to help youth navigate the challenges of climate anxiety. They will be joined by members of CPA’s Student and Young People group who will share their experiences and be on hand to answer attendee questions.
This session will provide valuable insights into understanding the unique needs of young people in relation to climate change and practical strategies to help foster resilience. It’s a must-attend for anyone working closely with young people who is keen to better support their emotional and psychological well-being in the face of the climate crisis.

Climate Fresk are offering a number of free workshops over the coming months (both online and in-person across the world), aiming to accelerate the understanding of climate issues at a global level.
Through fun, creative games, these workshops and events offer an interactive way to understand the challenges we face and what action we as citizens can take.

An inspiring discussion with environmental justice researcher and educator Joycelyn Longdon as we explore her new book Natural Connection.
We’ll discuss key themes, including Indigenous wisdom, modern technology and how experiencing awe in nature can inspire collective climate action. Joycelyn will share insights from communities across the USA, UK, Brazil, India, Nigeria and Iran, highlighting how ordinary people have driven today’s rapid technological changes. We’ll explore her motivations for writing Natural Connection and the impact she hopes to create through her work. Most importantly, we’ll discuss how anyone can take action for a healthier planet and reconnect with nature. Hosting Joycelyn and leading the conversation will be renowned climate and disability justice activist, Daphne Frias.

Feira Ponto no CCBB
A new audio-visual work, Afterlife by Laima Leyton, Iggor Cavalera & Antonio Cavalera, will be presented at this year’s Anexa CCBB_Movimentos Miméticos, in partnership with In Place of War and Semana Internacional da Música de São Paulo – SIM SP.
Afterlife asks the question; Will data and technology ever be truly more significant than nature and species? For the creation of this audio-visual work, the artists and musicians created a dreamy yet dramatic feeling of a fading nature.
Using the track Afterlife from EarthSonic’s album The Last Scream, which featured the sounds of the endangered Black-cheeked Gnateate and Yellow-green Grosbeak from EarthSonic’s Sounds Archive, video artist Antonio Cavalera developed a method for processing images according to the sound for this beautiful installation.

The event will feature provocations from key players offering varied perspectives from across these spheres, which will be interspersed with facilitated group discussion and networking opportunities.

Utilizing gaming as a key communication vehicle, this discussion asks: How can technology, the arts, and community building empower young people and vulnerable groups facing the escalating impacts of the climate crisis in Africa? How can serious games effectively communicate climate knowledge?
