About

Calla of Ursa is a listening experience designed to stir the depths of our primal inner worlds. Her sound fuses operatic vocals with seismic bass, paying homage to the worlds of folk and cinema epics to create something raw, mythic, and unmistakably her own. An operatically trained soprano and electronic producer, Calla's classical upbringing collides with electronic intensity, creating music that is simultaneously ancient and of the future. She has released three studio albums and is set to release an EP of four tracks at the end of 2026. Calla of Ursa explores themes of intersectional feminism, the colonial capitalist patriarchal war machine, environmentalism, interconnectedness, spirituality, and mental health. A compelling live performer, Calla of Ursa performs by combining live looped vocals and violin with keys and electronic production. Channelling the mythical and reverential, Calla of Ursa invites presence and reflection as an antidote to a hypersaturated world.

Project Goals for the next 6-12 Months

I am wrapping up a masters in classical singing at the Guildhall School of Drama. Following this I intend to release an EP and approach publishers to help increase reach with the release. The EP will develop into a full studio album which I have already begun working on so I will keep developing this and collaborating with other artists. I intend to find a booking agent in the UK and start performing as well as applying for different festivals. I am currently working on the score for a documentary about deep sea trawling which I will complete this year. I will look for future collaborations around projects such as this both recorded and live performance that seek to tell a bigger story.
